chice Letterboxd Following Tools and the chice Letterboxd fetch extension
Last updated 14 September 2026.
What this software does
The website at chice.pages.dev/letterboxd lets you search films across people you follow on Letterboxd. A browser extension (“chice Letterboxd fetch”) loads Letterboxd pages and poster images in your browser so that search can run. Cloudflare Pages cannot load those pages from its own servers.
What is fetched
The extension requests public Letterboxd pages and poster files you ask the tools to load, such as:
- your following list
- ratings and reviews listings
- film posters from letterboxd.com and ltrbxd.com
You do not need to be logged into Letterboxd. If you already have Letterboxd cookies in this browser, the extension sends them with those requests (the same as visiting the site yourself). Letterboxd HTML is parsed on the Letterboxd Tools page. It is not sent to Cloudflare or to chice servers.
What chice stores
Search results, following lists, and related data stay in this browser (for example IndexedDB / localStorage). They are not uploaded to chice. The tools page has a Clear All Data button in the header that deletes everything you have scraped, and clearing this browser's site data does the same.
The website may also record short search-error summaries so that blocked fetches can be diagnosed and fixed, for example the kind of error ("blocked"), the kind of page, and the Cloudflare edge location. These summaries contain no usernames and no data that identifies you or any Letterboxd account. They are diagnostics only: they are never sold, never used for advertising, and they are the only thing that leaves your browser.
The extension requests Letterboxd pages using the Letterboxd cookies already in this browser, which means Letterboxd receives those requests just as it would if you visited the site yourself. Letterboxd's own privacy policy covers how they handle that.
Limited Use
chice Letterboxd fetch complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Letterboxd pages and poster images accessed by the extension are used only to provide the tool's single purpose on your own device. They are never sold, never transferred to third parties, and never used for personalised or interest-based advertising.
Permissions
The extension asks to access letterboxd.com and ltrbxd.com so it can fetch those pages and posters. It rewrites the Referer header on poster requests so Letterboxd’s image CDN will serve the file. If a fetch is blocked, it may open a letterboxd.com tab in this browser so Letterboxd can set access cookies. It does not scrape that tab, and it does not read your general browsing history.
